Jugalbandhi--A Grand Indian Classical Music Concert

NEW YORK - Jugalbandhi featuring one of India’s foremost Carnatic violinists, Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi and the Hindustani flute maestro Pravin Godkhindi will be presented by Harrice Miller Entertainment and Jiva Performing Arts on Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Lang Recital Hall, Hunter College.
A Jugalbandhi, a duet between two musical instruments or traditions, is an exciting display of two contrasting styles and forms. This jugalbandhi will feature the virtuosic artist, Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi, who hails from one of the most illustrious violin families of India, being the daughter and disciple of the great maestro Lalgudi Jayaraman. She has performed widely both in India and abroad and has received numerous awards in India.
Pravin Godkhindi, one of India’s most respected and talented flutists, was born to a family of musicians, and also had his training from his father, Pandit Venkatesh Godkhindi, an eminent vocalist and Bansuri artist. He was graded "A"
