One word to sum up the concert "Brilliant"

Gurucharan inaugurated the Shanmukhananda festval with a wonderful concert.

The concert started half an hour late.
It was announced that the artists were delayed after being stuck in train for more than 10 hours due to Andhra Karnataka floods,and came, taking a taxi from Pune to be in time for concert.They arrived 10 mins before concert and started at 7 .30pm.
So no one complained for delay.It was a 3 hour concert.

If inta chalamu was a warm up for all artistes then they all settled and came in to form with wonderful Ninnu vina in reetigowlai.
After the varnam it was no looking back just going from strength to strength.
It was interesting to note he alternated with fast pace and slow paced songs.
Ramuni maragave,Palimpa and Parthnatha was rendered soulfully .
Amba Neelayadakshi was so wonderfully sung in nice slow pace .
He mixed neraval and swarams judiciously making it a pleasant concert.
The bhairavi alaap was superb with a wonderful swaram pattern mixing thisram and chatusram.
The thani was a bit long I felt but then Skandasubrmanian and Rajganesh were superb and worked well with Skandasubramaniam encouraging Rajaganesh to play more.It was pleasant rapport seen on stage by all the five members.

Sanjeevs bowing was superb and Skandasubramaniam and Rajaganesh were playing with as a team beautifully.It was visible they were enjoying each others company and supporting well to make a pleasant hearing.

The RTP was short understandably as it was already 9 45 pm.
What followed was the lovely Tirumuruga tiruvarul tha, and mindblowing Sapashyath.
I was waiting to hear this beautiful song and my day was made when he sang it.
The thillana and tirupugazh were crisp.

I can safely say youngsters are interested in carnatic music after seeing lot of youngsters in the hall staying till the end.

It was 10 30 when he finished and many of us wished he could have continued but it was late.

Cant wait to hear todays concert by the same team in Bhandup.
