Namaskarum All,

Did anyone attend the concert by Mysore Nagaraj and Dr. Manjunath at the Bangalore Gayana Samaj on 9 October? Who were the accompanists? Please post the song list and a review of the concert.

Thank you,
Devan

Yes i did attend the one in Gayana Samaj on Oct 9th. It was as usual, another excellent concert by the brothers.

Accompanists were Vid Mannargudi Eswaran on mridangam and Vid G S Ramanujam on Ghatam.

I went in a little after the concert started, so i am not sure what the first couple of items were... Here is the song list from when i went in..(from memory)

..
..
1. sri kantimatim - hemavati (R N)
2. mamava sada - nattakurinji (R)
3. gunijanaadi nuta- gurjari
4. bala gopala - bhairavi (R N S T)
5. ragam thanam pallavi - charukesi
6. misc

The highlight was the RTP with ragamalika.

They were ably accompanied by Sri Eswaran and Sri Ramanujam.

Someone else who attended may please fill the earlier songs that were played.

It was a great concert. Especially charukeshi aalapane and sindhubhairavi swaras were simply observe..
The second raga during pallavi(ragamalika) was Chandrakauns I guess.
This being hindusthani raga mannargudi played mrudangam such that it sounded like pakhwaaj.
Thoroughly enjoyed the concert..:)
