Request rasikas to educate the difference between these two ragas.

I heard K Arunachalam's Nadaswaram in which raga Takka was elaborated followed by"Raka Shashivadana"of Thyagaraja. There were traces of lalitha.

Going by the chiTTe swara of rAkA shashivadana, avarOhaNa prayogas in Takka seem to go along - S N D M - P M G R - G S.

Takka is characterised by the rgS,, phrase, which is evident in both the prevalent krti-s - SundaramurtiM of MD and rakA sasivadana of Tyagayya.

It seems to have been in vogue, even in the times of Annamayya.

it also features in one version of the story surrounding rAmaswamy diksitar and the caturdaNDiprakASika - some say he identified the mUrchana of tanukIrti; and some books say it was takka.
