Woe is me! I had to play host to guests and couldn't go. When I tried to slip out around 5.30, a dirty look from the feminine parent put me back into gracious host mode.

Such an interesting songlist. I had guessed that she may sing the sauvIra/suvarnAngi piece. Neela mami has sung this on radio, and even sang an RTP suvarNangi, 4-5 years ago at the Gayana samaj.

How did Mami sing Lalitapancamam..? with the kaisiki or the kakali ni..?

Most versions of Paramapurusham I have heard use the latter, while it should be the former.

And which kind of Tarangini did she sing..? the janjuti species or the carukesi species..?

It must have been a challenge singing kuranji after a Sankarabharanam main. is it sung in Madhyama sruti...?

I too went to a concert.. And it was terrible and half-decent in patches.. So I won't file a report.

keerthi - i guess, mami sang with kaisiki nishadam - making it a janya of vakulabharanam

Not sure about maye twam..

kurinji was sung in madhyama sruti, so was maye twam.

Shankarabharanam was very interesting, had very classical phrases and some improvised phrases also. She did graha bedam, resulting in yamuna kalyani and kadanakutuhalam (i didn't observe later raga, mami clarified this after concert). Shankarabharanam swarams had some nice patterns, and tani avarthanam was equally interesting. I was so happy to hear dwijavanthi piece rendered very movingly.

If i need to talk some thing in negative, mami profusely used text reference, even for akshaya linga vibho, and in one place in shankarabharanam swaras, it seemed as if she missed edam once (i could be wrong, corrections welcome).

Keerthi - i believe there is another mami's (awsome) concert scheduled next week, wait for details in few days..

2. bruhadeshwari bhajare re chitta - lalitha panchamam - adi (alapana, swara @ bruhadeeshwari)
5. sringAra sakthyayuda dhara - ramAmanohari - misra jampai (alapana, swara @ sringAra)
9. sarasa soudheera rasavada - suvarnangi - adi
10.sri dikshitendraya gayekebya (viruttam, mangalam) - surati
2 I have heard , cannot recollect . 5 and 9 not heard at all(especially suvarnangi is a teaser)
Is the last sri dikshitendraya sloKham composed by some one else. I am always assuming only thamizh should be called viruththam ,rest like sanskrit ,telugu or kannada should only be called slokham, sloka or slokhamu and not viruththam ;)

There are no sloka-s in kannaDa or telugu either. You are right when you say it is an assumption.

I too am interested in knowing who composed the verse on MD.

I can confirm this - but to the best of my knowledge the "sanskrit" Dikshithar shlokam in Surutti was composed by Shri V V Srivatsa

I guess it was in jhanjhuti species ..
If I am not wrong, TM Krishna sang maaye twam in carukesi species in sangeetha samprada pradarshini demo held at gayana samaja some time ago...

Here's the link to that TMK concert you are referring to. The intro to mAyE is worth listening to. He explains how it's closer to Charukesi and not jenjhuti as it has morphed into today. Very enlightening.

I have removed the URL. Unfortunately, I do not own the space on sangeethamshare to be able to delete it out of there as well.
