Keerthi - what type of varNam is this? - given the format, I think it can be adapted into a padavarNam (although, in general, padavarNams have slightly longer pallavis and anupallavis).

I think this fits into the category of 'Cauka varNaM' - It has two avarta-s of Ata tALa each for the pallavi and anupallavi.

There is sahityam for three out of five muktayi swara-s. the second and third being without lyric.Also these two are minor variants of each other.

Looking at this varNa, i feel shAma shastri has modelled it after the bhairavi monument of his guide - Adyappayyah. there are too many similarities in format - anubandham etc.

srinivasaraos blog -on Shyama Sastry, says
Apart from the Varnam ‘Samini rammanave’ (Ananadabhairavi-Ata Taala), a Sandesha in Srngara-rasa, where the Nayika sends a message, through her maid (Sakhi) to her beloved Lord Varadaraja;

May I have a translation of the lyrics please?

Respected Lakshman_ji,
Saw the message. Thank you.
The theme of the song is so very unlike most of the other SS krithis.
Is there a way to test its authenticity?

One of the pages I sent you was from the book by Vidya Shankar who was considered to be an authority on Shyama Shastri krtis. I have no idea how else you can authenticate a song like this.
