Accompaniments : R.Sivakumar - Violin,Sankaranarayanan - Mridangam, ? - Morsing

The song list

Nadha thanumanisam - Citharanjani - (S)

Venkatasailavihara - Hameerkalyani - (R)

Maravairiramani - Nasikabhushani

Mayuranatham - Dhanyasi - (R,S,T)

Saramaina - Behag

The gayaki's voice was in good form.Started nicely with a good round of swarams for nadhathanumanisam.

HK alapana was done nicely & eruditely. The voice effortlessly traversed to upper octave Pa.But she sang the pallavi as Venkata sailavi hara;instead she would have sung venkata saila vihara.Of course, majority sing the former way.But I don't thing Ms.SN is in the majority. But if she herself wants to join the bandwagon what poor Ganesh can do ?

Dhanyasi was dealt in neatly and all the beautiful sangathis were brought forth. The kriti was rendered with a lot of devotion and a touch of spirituality was seen in the entire treatement.

Sivakumar's reply was fair for HK and Good in Dhanyasi.

Both the percusionists made the concert lively by their playing.

A very good concert.

Yes ...it was a very good concert and renderings very serene and soothing to hear. The video recording of the same was telecast over Doorsarshan Malayalam some time back. I was fortunate to see the same and the krithi Maayoranatham was rendered beautifully.....looking forward to here this artist in the approaching "Season"

She sang Maaravairi in tisra nadai which sounded different. Not sure that it was a successful experiment.

My Thyagaraja book (Publisher A.K.Gopalan) says Rupakam. But it could be wrong. Just perceived a faster tempo.
