1. We cannot simply lock away threads.
2. We do not believe in imposing an idea on the members, people might like to have different threads for each event and they are not going to always "obey"
It is possible to have separate archive sections (let's say a "season archive 2009") with all season related reviews and discussions in it. These could be made "read-only" i.e non updatable, if necessary.

There is the problem with asking people to use standarization vs forum admins creating forums/sub forums.rajaglan wrote: Examples are
Sanjay subramaniam @ Music Academy - Season 2009
T.M.Krishna @ Krishna Gana Sabha - Season 2009
Sanjay Subrahmanyan is his real name. I have see, everyone misspell it to subramaniam, subramanian, subrahmanian etc. So search will not return all correct answers. Alspo T M Krishna, T.M.Krishna T.M. Krishna all may yield different search results. Unlike western artists, Indian artists names are not standrad. Aruna Sairam, Aruna Sayeeram is another example.

Not really. There is always one uniqueness in every name that people will not misspell.manikand28 wrote:There is the problem with asking people to use standarization vs forum admins creating forums/sub forums.rajaglan wrote: Examples are

For the above example they are sanjay, krishna, aruna. by typing this you can get all their concerts.
So to fine tune your search (to get lesser entries ) one can type in the 'search string' the following.
sanjay season 2009
krishna season 2009
aruna season 2009
That is why this extra discipline of writing "season" & "2009" is required.
why this standard...some nonstandard titles can simply kill (hide forever) the thread.
because people may write the title as "TMK @ MA on 27th december 09"
So here none of the words like 'season', '2009' 'krishna' can return the reviews that you look for.
(though TMK is coommon now). And I bet people can be more innovative.
Another innovative title can be
"4 hour marathon by Bolt at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on New Year"
referring to sanjay as bolt (it is already done earlier) and the new year , still meaning the season concert of 2009.
So it is a question of whether you want to look -innovative- or -search friendly-.
