Accompanied by Dr. Hemalatha on Violin, Ganapathiraman on Mrudangam and Madipakkam Murali on Ghatam, Amirtha gave an excellent concert which can be remembered by discerning rasiakas for long for its pristine purity in adhering to tradition. This should be viewed against the present day trend of youngsters labouring to give what they perceive to be satisfying to rasikas, in total disregard for patantara. It is good that the concert is recorded for reproduction which would go a long way in the education of future generation on how these krutis are to be presented. My personal view is that the Kruti ,Chinna Nadena ' could have been rendered by all artists in a leisurely way,considering its emotional content. The notable feature of the concert is the support rendered by accompanists who did their job well in enhancing the level of the concert of an youngster. Bhairavi alapana by Dr. Hemalatha was of a high order.
