The concert started in time. The varnam was rendered as a pada varnam which I have heard only from Alathur Brothers and Smt.Mani Krishnaswami. The Hamsadhwani song had nice swaras in second kalam. Ranjini alapana was done well for 7 minutes. He announced that the song was set to tune by Shri.K.V.Narayanaswami. This was a favourite of KVN as well. There was neraval at Sahyadrivasa Satchidananda and followed by swaras. This was followed by Hanumane. Sankarabharanam was rendered with all details for about 10 minutes. The keerthana, neraval and swaras were rendered with precision. Only one charanam was rendered and ‘kori vachina’ charnam was skipped. Thani was good and lasted for 15 minutes. Nobody went out during thani. After the filler- Chinnanadena, RTP was rendered very briefly- Raga alapana for 3 minutes and the entire exercise in 25 minutes. Vasantha, Kalyanavasantham and Varali were taken up for ragamalika swaras. While hearing the sloka, I thought it is Madhuvanthi but the song followed was in Dharmavathi. The thillana and mangalam followed. The accompanists did their role in a supportive manner. Altogether a good concert.

If I am not mistaken, the Ranjani kriti is set to Misrachapu.
The popular Ranjani version of Dattatreya Trimurti Rupa as sung by KVN is floating on youtube. He is accompanied by Sri Tirupparkadal Veeraraghavan and by Sri UKS, as part of a DD Podhikai concert lasting 30 mins.
He sings Sogasuga Mridanga sans alap or swaras and completes the concert with Marulu Konnadira, a Khamas Javali by Poochi Iyengar.
