even the contrived review in Hindu admits his voice was in bad shape so your claim is surprising and needs kilo of salt. Hindu reviewer says audience has come to accept the bad voice, why then he is singing in BGS to only family, students and otherwise empty hall? review seems to have been written under duress or inducement as on same sheet the reviewer has blasted kirnvali shankar for bad voice! very unfair on the lady.

i find difficult to belive with the state of voice ramanis concert was preferable to kiranavalis or any singer for the mater but that is what the same reviewer has indicated which is unfair and probably dishonest. Hindu is trying to prop up some singers but then they should give same overhype to everybodey then. corrupt reviewers should be kicked out.

dundubi, I read both reviews in the Hindu. The same Hindu reviewer was not so kind to kiranavali's concert. But let us not drag rasikan's opinions about this concert into the displeasure about this Hindu reviewer.
Here is the Hindu review of this concert: http://beta.thehindu.com/arts/music/article66896.ece
(fyi, the kiranavali review is here: http://beta.thehindu.com/arts/music/article66978.ece but as much as possible, let us keep this thread for any discussion of Ashok Ramani concert)

I have nothing to say about Sri Ashok Ramani here as I did not attend the concert mentioned above. But my grandfather read Ms. Kiranavali's review in the Hindu with incredulity. He asserted that there was nothing wrong with her voice or singing that day. He was very surprised that the reviewer did not have a single good thing to say about the concert, which in his opinion was "much better than the average stuff doled out by many in Chennai on a regular basis". He is sure that there is some serious bias.
