The concert started on a bright note with a rare varnam and again a rare kirthana"Needasula Bhangamulu" in Malayamarutam was taken up. Saveri was dealt with in a leisurely pace bringing out the raga bhava in full and KI's Velayya was rendered neatly. The swaraprastara for this item was done spiritedly. The main item was Shubapantuvarali, presented in all grandeur, a soulful raga rendered with lots of bhavam and traces of Tanjore SKR's phrasings could be noticed in the raga elaboration. Nevaral was done at pallavi line giving full justice to the raga and sahitya bhavam. Swaras were presented nicely with ample scope for kanakkus. Kaushik did a fair job though at many places he was not up to the mark and Ramanarayan's mridangam was inadequate and he did not lend good support. Inspite of these shortcomings the vocalist did a commendable job and overall the concert was very good

I heard the concert till about Saveri and abhimanam as you said the artiste did a fantastic job. Saveri Raga delineation was marked with tradition and character. I also heard from other musicians friends who heard the concert that she sang Khanda Koraippu in Sri Sathyanarayanam .... am i right ?

Rupaka Tala 2 Kalai has got 6 beats per cycle. So for Khanda Koraippu it has to start at the 3rd beat for 10 beats (for two avartas of Rupaka Tala). By Khanda Korvai do you mean Khanda Nadai Korvai? I didnt mention about Khanda Korvai in my above post. Khanda Koraippu means 10 beats for a few avartas to start with and then reducing it to 5 beats, 2 1/2 beats and 1 1/4 beats and then winding off with a Khanda Pattern.
