9. Bhajo Madhura (Bhajan - Raaj Lalit - Eka Talam)
I missed the first two items of the concert. She was just finishing her swarams in AthAna as I was walking in. Sriranjani alapanai was very good. I felt she could have done a bit better on the swaram, but she made up for it soon with the MadhyamAvathy raga alapanai. After the alapanai, there was a comment from one of the rasikas in the audience saying that she sang the ragam so well, that he could visualize the goddess herself in his eyes. Neraval and swaram for Palinchu Kamakshi were both excellent.
Overall, the concert was pretty good, but I have heard way better concerts of Vijayalakshmy Subramaniam. She's a very talented musician.

I had the privilege of listening to the concert, and it was a concert to remember. Smt. Vijayalakshmy was in excellent form.
Mridangam - Neyveli Sri. Skanda Subramaniam
Ghatam - Sri. N Guruprasad
The concert started with a Navagraha slokam and it was followed by the Sahana Varnam. After the Varnam was 'Pancha Maathanga Mukha' , a Dikshithar composition in Malahari. The kalpana swarams in this song as well as Sri Ranjani were excellently rendered. The Dhavalambari Ragam (Melakarta 49) was handled beautifully, with pristine sangatis around the M - P - D - N swarams , and providing the rasikas a treat with the rarely heard Koteeswara Iyer kriti . Ramakrishnanu is a Purandaradasa composition.
As Abhishek has mentioned, Madyamavathi was excellent, and the nereval was in the charanam line 'Kaantha Magu Peru Ponditivi Kaarunya Moorthi'. The Saara maina in Behag was full of sowkhyam. The song list had an interesting mix of rare songs and popular compositions, and the Koteeswara Iyer Kriti added uniqueness to the list. In all , it was a fantastic concert full of energy, and in addition to the heavy rains that morning, the audience at MFAC was treated to Isai Mazhai by. Smt. Vijayalakshmy and team.

In the list the second song was Pancha mathang in Mallahari
The Ramakrishnuru is a purandaradasa kriti in Tillang.
This was a wonderful concert. Rains did not dampen Vijayalakshmy's spirit. Nor did it deter the people who came in to listen braving the weather. The Davalambri was an exquisite presentation.
Skanda and Guruprasad accompaniment was very supporting
Good concert waiting for the next??

The concert was very good. It is always a pleasure to attend Smt. Vijayalakshmy's concerts. Her renditions brought out the very essence of each raga and was filled with the utmost Bhava. I personally found the swara patterns in Sri Ranjani very innovative and exciting. The Sara Maina in Behag was truly touching and took us all to another level.
