Prashant - was rUpamu jUci presented in the full-blown Kalakshetra format (the format wherein Smt. RDA had Sri Tiger (?) compose sAhitya for the ciTTasvara passages to make it a danceable version)?

Ravi, after the tani, Sri TMK did mention that it was Tiger who set the CiTTaswara passage sahityas, but he did not sing them in this concert.

The RTP structure resembles a Viloma tisra Roopakam, Misra Nadai, 2 kaLai

This pallavi line is a very common , semmangudi mama (in mohanam and kedaragowlai)and madurai mani(in mohanam) used to take it too. Even many contemporary musicians take it too , of late I have heard a brindAvani RTP by suryaprakash in the same lines . IIRC maharajapuram vishwanatha iyer used to sing this too. This pallavi line is taken from the dikshitar's krithi in khamAs. So appropriate for TMK to take this too in that actual rAgA. Not clear in terms how member_first is making a statement that this pallavi is not good.

Loved the choice of thodi kriti. I liked the idea of performing neraval for more than one line of the song. However, it would have been nice if TMK had sung the thodi varnam's pallavi and anu pallavi in full (atleast once) before the swarakalpana and neraval. I did not get the feeling of hearing the song fully due to the four 'interruptions'. And a personal preference - the vilamba kala (as sung for pallavi and anupallavi) suited the song much better than the faster pace chosen for the charanams.
