Nanditha Ravi, daughter of Rama Ravi, a representative of the Brinda school gave a satisfying (not just satisfactory! ;) ) concert at the Academy. The set list was:

1. sAmi daya - kedAragowla varnam

2. suguNamulE - chakravAkam- rUpakam- Tyagaraja swami (S)

3. tyAgarAjAya - bEgaDa - rUpakam - Dikshitar

4. mIna lOcana - dhanyAsi - mishra chapu- Shyama Shastri (R,S @ gAnavinOdini)

5. kaNDEn kaNDEn - vasantha - Adi- aruNAcala kavirAyar

6. enduko nI manasu - kalyAni - Adi - Tyagaraja Swami (R N,S,T @ rAgarahita)

I was expecting a padam after this, but the organisers hinted her to stop. The kalyani piece was rendered very well. The kriti set up is so good. I am wondering why we don't hear it often.

The violinist was too troublesome. He tried to play a lot and was a bit disturbing. Mridangist was a bit noisy. His style did not suit Nanditha's soft music.

It is indeed a very satisfying composition. Hyderabad brothers have rendered this quite a few times.
