Definitely plan to be there for this one! It'll be the first time ever that I will be celebrating it with CM. The (US) Desi way is to have Bollywood-kind of music and chatter away late into the night!

It is very good but there is a chandra grahanam tonight. That will probably keep away a few people like me!

I was at this event till around 12.30 -- first for me. I congratulate Carnatica for thinking up this nice concept. SO much better than most conventional methods of ringing in the new year. There was variety: stalwarts, kids, CM based film music, fusion. The standard was uniformly high and the mood jolly. The piping hot pongal-sambar and other goodies outside were welcome after a long and busy day for me. And it was all for free to the public!

It would be nice to have an even more interactive space - the music academy always comes across a bit stiff and formal.

Fantastic effort, considering Carnatica has organized at least 3 different parallel series this season -- Samarpanam @ MGR-Janaki, Interactive workshops @KGS, Coffee w/ artists @ Sangeetha-restaurant. Not to mention the 25-odd concerts presented by their director Shashikiran over the course of 30 days. Thats nothing short of amazing.

I was fortunate to attend a couple of the concerts organized by Carnatica this year, as well as the 'Nerukku Ner' event with Shri Nedunuri. All were very well organized. The effort put in by the team at Carnatica during the season seems to have been incredible. I wish them all success, and hope for many more great Season [and non-season] events from them. Kudos Shri Shashikiran and team!

A special congratulations to forumite Nivedita ... who manages to pack a career as a Carnatic vocalist, TV presenter, event organizer, compere and God knows what million other things we don't know...a fitting disciple for the redoubtable Shashikiran.

These people are a great inspiration to me.

Indeed, I am quite convinced that Nivedita operates at a speed exceeding 3E8 m/s.
