I have come (vandEn) to you in great anticipation (nADi nADi) having heard (kETTu) your fame (pugazh) being extolled, won’t you hear (kELAyO) my (en) voice/words (kural) to your ear’s (Sevi) content (ura)? Screaming for refuge (aDaikkalam aDaikkalam enru), I have attained (adaindEn) you (unai), won’t you extend (tandu) your arm (karam) of fearlessness (abhaya) and put an end (tIrAyO) to the consequences of my past deeds (vinai)? Won’t you open (tirandu) your coral (pavazha)-like lips/mouth (vAi) and bless (aruLAyO) me (enakku), who is forever singing (pADi pADi) your praises (pOTRi), and worshiping (paNiyum) you, by offering me refuge (anjal enru)?

Even as lakshmI (malar annai) eternally (enrum) reposes (uraindiDa) on your divine (tiru) chest (mArbil) that is praised (pugazhum) by the vEdas (maRai), the bee (vaNDu) that is my mind (mana) seems to want to gather in heaps (aLLi aLLi) the nectar (tEnai) of grace (aruL) from your eyes (iruvizhi) [3] that shine (tigazhum) in your (un) face (mukhattE) like (ena) resplendently blossoming (virijOti) lotuses (kamalam), and sing (pADa) your praises (pugazh), and I seek (nADi) you (unai) with (uDan) desire/infatuation of love (maiyyal) (as I come to you, with my hands held in supplication, calling out thus repeatedly: Oh handsome one!)
