The Pallavi - Thyagarajare umakkinai evvare Lokame ennalume paadume un keerthaname, was set to Tisra Triputa Talam Misra Nadai, cannot be classified as 2 Kalai.
It was a nice concert. The Lathangi Alapanai had some fine Brigas. Liked the Manoranjani filler. The main Kedaragowlai was delivered well too. The challenging Pallavi was sung elaborately with Trikalam done. The concert, by itself was unhurried. The accompanists played a good role, the thani for the Pallavi was done very well.
A satisfying Pallavi exposition!

the increasing or decreasing of kalapramanam cannot make it one-kalai or two-kalai..
the beat that was used to demonstrate is what matters.
just because the talam is put slow or fast, thus making the song run or drag cannot shift it from one-kalai to two-kalai or viceversa. it will stay as it is only.
atleast that is what i understand of 'kaLai' as such. experts could comment.
i think srikant is confusing between 'kaLai' and the mEl kAlam/kIzh kAlam shiftings..

One thought that in one avartana of tishra-jAti tripuTa tALam, if someone sings 7 x 7 = 49 mElkAla swarams (taking kArvais to be number of swarams that could've been sung in their stead), it's 1-kaLai mishranaDai, and if one sings 98 mElkAla swarams, it's 2-kaLai mishranaDai.
