It was a nice concert with a good list. The Chalanattai piece created a fine mood at the beginning. The Hamsagamani Krithi was announced to be a Siva Ashothra Krithi by Muthiah Bhagavathar and the Ragam is apparently a Janyam of Ramapriya. Had a nice round of Chittai Swarams. The choice of the Kanada song after the Alapanai was again interesting - a Dikshithar one. The violinist's version here of the Ragam was very good.

The pick of the concert to me was the Neelambari Krithi rendition. Was done beautifully. The main Kambhoji Ragam was developed well. The Krithi was prefaced with a Shlokam. The Swaram Kuraippu here was done well with good patterns. The Tani that followed was short and nice. Post main, liked the Punnagavarali and Nadanamakriya - emotive as always.

Was a nice concert with a Neelambari that was very touching to me..

Hamsagamani? I haven't heard that! I notice that GG's concerts offer several unfamiliar songs and rAgams.

GG is very innovative. She sings many songs in different rAgams. Cannot forget her rendition of Needhan Mechi Kolla Venum at Shastri Hall which she sung differently. Also, I have her Cd and love her rendition of Kanakasaila which is just superb.
