Here is a question masquerading as a concert review. Read on...

Malladi Bros. gave an energetic and engaging performance for Nayaki. Unfortunately I don't positively recall who the accompanists were. Maybe S. Varadarajan and Sri. Mannargudi Easwaran.

1. Was #3 in Devagandhari or was my ears playing tricks on me? Most others seem to sing it in Arabhi.

you must have got the impression that it was D'gandhari.. they, like everybody else, sing it in Arabhi.

It is nice that they have sung the mudra caraNam.. it hardly gets aired in public, hidden in forgotten yellowing pages of krtimanimAlai copies.

Most singers sing the caraNam that goes 'devi purAni'.
