I will d/l the clip at home and try to listen to the lyrics (or if Lji gets to it earlier, he can), and I can try my hand at padArtha after that.

The varNam is a composition of Pandanallur Sri Srinivasan (I think he is the father of Pandanallur Sri Pandian - the Guru of Ms. Archana) in rAgam rEvati, Adi tALam

pallavI
karuNai vaDivamAna kayilai vAsanE
panca vaDivam koNDa panca mUrtiyE
karuttil niraippOrkku karuNai dayAnidhiyE
kAlani udaittu bhaktanai kAtta ….(karuNai)

Oh resident (vAsanE) of mount kailAS (kayilai), who is the very embodiment (vaDivamAna) of compassion (karuNai)! Oh Lord with five heads (panca mUrtiyE) [1], you are manifest (vaDivam koNDa) in the five (panca) elements [2]. You are the repository (nidhiyE) of compassion (karuNai) and kindness (dayA) to devotees that fill (niraippOrkku) their minds (karuttil) with thoughts of you! After all, are you not the Lord who protected (kAtta) his devotee (bhatanai) by kicking (udaitta) the god of death (kAlanai) [3].

kanaka sabhai tannil kAl mAri ADiDa
ghaNa ghaNa muraSODu bhUta gaNaMgaL muzhaMga
sanaka mahAmunivar pOTrum porpAdan
kanalAi muppuram eritta mukkaNNan….(karuNai)

As you dance (ADiDa) by altering (mAri) your foot (kAl) [4] in (tannil) the golden (kanaka) hall (sabhai) in cidambaram, the drums (muraSOdu) played by the army of servants (bhUta gaNaMgaL) reverberate (muzhaMga) thunderously around the world. Oh Lord, whose divine, golden (por) feet (pAdan) are praised by the four great (mahA) sages (munivar) lead by sanaka (5)! You are the three-eyed (mukkaNNan) one that destroyed/burnt (eritta) the three worlds (muppuram) [6] to cinder (kanalAi).

ciTTasvara sAhityam
Adiyum antamum aruLperum jOtiyAy
ari ayan kANA Adi paramporuLE
anji aDiyArkku abhayam tandiDum
aDiyanai kAttiDum appanum nIyE….(karuNai)

Siva, who is a brilliant blaze (jyOtiyAy) of unending (perum) grace (aruL) from his very origin (Adiyum) to his very end (antamum), is the primeval (Adi) pre-eminent (param) essence (poruLE) of life whom even vishNu (ari) or brahmA (ayan) were not able to perceive/see (kANA) [7], and is the one who provides (tandiDum) succor/fearlessness (abhayam) to devotees (aDiyArkku) who are in fear/dread (anji). Oh Lord! You (nIyE) are also the parent/father (appanum) who protects (kAttiDum) this devotee (aDiyanai)!

caraNa sAhityam
sAma gAna priyanE saccidAnandanE

You are a connoisseur (priyanE) of high quality music (sAmagAna) [8], oh Lord of existence (sat), consciousness (cit), and joy (AnandanE) [8]!

caraNasvara sAhityam 1
SaMbhO mahAdEva SAmbal tirunIr aNinda….(sAma)

Oh Lord Siva (SaMbhO)! The mighty (mahA) god (dEvA), the one who wears (aNinda) the sacred ashes (SAmbal tirunIr)!

caraNasvara sAhityam 2
tiMgaL pirai SUDi gaMgai SiramEndi SenSaDai dharitta gaMgAdharA….(sAma)

Adorned (SUDi) with the nascent (pirai) moon (tiMgaL), and bearing (Endi) the river gangA (gaMgai) on your head (Siram), and wearing (dharitta) red (Sen) matted locks (SaDai), you are the one who bears the gaMgA (gaMgAdharA).

caraNasvara sAhityam 3

ayyan porpAdam tUkki ninrADa annai SivakAmi Anandam poMgiDa
pataMjali vyAghrar nandi kaNDukoNDADa viNNavar pOTrum parabrahmEndra….(sAma)

Oh divine (tiru) Lord of dance (naTrAjarE)! You are the resident (vAsarE) who is praised by (pOTrum) inhabitants of both (iru) worlds (bhuvanamum) [9]. As my lord (ayyan) dances (ninrADa) with his golden/divine (por) foot (pAdam) raised up (tUkki) to the SorkaTTu (yena) dhIm dhIm taka dhimi dhimita dhimita , the world (aMDam), and the masses of people (piMDam) that inhabit the world, and the snakes (aravam) that adorn him shake/quake (adir) and resound (OLi muzhaMga). Visualizing this, mother (annai) pArvatI's (SivakAmi) happiness (Anandam) brims over (poMgiDa), the sages paTanjali, and vyAghrapAdar and nandI watch him (kaNDukoNDu) and follow his steps (ADa), and the celestials (viNNavar) sing your praises (pOTrum) - the supreme (para) being (brahmEndra).

FOOTNOTES:
[1] panca mUrti refers to SivA as the five-headed one. Each of his five heads is thought to represent the five elements
[2] bhUtas – the five elements are earth, water, fire, air, and space. All creation is supposed to be made up of different proportions of these five elements
[3] Refers to the myth of mArkaMDEya
[4] Technically, 'kAl mAri ADiyadu' is in Madurai (rajata sabhai). In cidambaram and in other temples of naTarAjA, the Lord is shown with his right foot planted on the demon, and with his left foot raised. It is only in Madurai where he is shown with his left foot resting on the demon and the right one raised
[5] sanaka, sana, sanatkumar, and sanandana are 4 sons created by brahmA who became powerful sages
[6] muppuram or tiripura refers to the three aerial cities ruled by the demon king (vALi) that SivA destroyed. The muppuram are supposed to represent the three malices – ANavam (pride/ego), kanmam/karmam (bad deeds), and mAyai (sorcery and witchcraft)
[7] Refers to the myth where vishNu and brahma set out to find the origin and end of Siva – brahmA flies upward to seek the origin on his swam, and vishNu takes the form of a boar and digs deep to locate his feet. When they return, vishNu says that he was unsuccessful, while brahmA describes Siva's head. Because of some inconsistencies, Siva questions him, and brahmA confesses that he got the description of his head from a flower that had fallen off Siva's head. For being dishonest, Siva cuts one of brahmA's heads off, and the five headed brahmA becomes 4 headed. He is also cursed that there will be no temple devoted to brahma on this earth. In turn, for cutting brahmA's head, Siva is punished by having to use the skull for a begging bowl
[8] sat+cit+Anandan = saccidAnandan
[9] The two worlds – the earth and the heavens
