Profile of the Artist:
Yamini Ramesh has been trained by many illustrious Gurus and currently continues to be a disciple of the violin maestro Shri Lalgudi.G.Jayaraman. She had her initial training under her mother Smt. Vaidehi Chari and subsequently had intensive lessons under the late Sangeetha Bhushanam Shri Madirimangalam Ramachandran (Retd. Chief Producer of Music AIR, Delhi), a disciple of Tiger Varadachariar. She has also studied music at Delhi University. As a youngster, she learnt to play the violin from Sangeetha Bhushanam Shri V. Janakiraman of New Delhi.
A recipient of the prestigious Govt of India National Scholarship for learning Carnatic Music under an eminent Guru, (1991-1993), Yamini has won several awards including the T.L.Venkatrama Iyer Memorial Prize for the Best Female Vocalist at the Music Academy, Madras (1991), The Tanpura Prize and the Best Female singer for singing Ragam-Tanam-Pallavis (all at the Music Academy, Madras), The MLV Memorial Prize for singing Purandara Dasa Devarnamas (Narada Gana Sabha, Instituted year-1991), Dr Seergazhi Govindarajan Prize for Singing Tamil songs at the Tamil Isai Sangam, Madras. She has also received several awards from the Delhi State Government including a scholarship to learn Carnatic Music (1989-1991).
Yamini is a graded vocalist of AIR since 1989 and has participated in many thematic programmes and Vadhya Vrinda orchestras of AIR Chennai and Delhi apart from giving broadcasts in Radio and Television.
Yamini has been performing for the past 25 years.She has performed for several well-known organisations in India – viz., The India International Centre -Delhi, Rajalakshmi Fine Arts – Coimbatore, Gwalior Fine Arts - Gwalior, Institute of World Culture – Bangalore, Thirupathi Vaggeyakara Festival – Thirupathi, to name a few, and at several prominent sabhas in Chennai and others parts of India. Yamini’s concerts are featured at many sabhas every music season in Chennai and she has performed for various organizations in New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and Dubai.
Yamini Ramesh has a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics, a Master’s Degree and a M.Phil Degree (both in Carnatic Vocal Music) from the University of Delhi.
Sri. G.K. VENKATESHWARAN - VIOLIN
G.K.Venkateswaran, a disciple of Late Sri. Anantharaman ( popularly known as
Ambi Sir), Principal of Sree Guru Guha Gaana Vidhyalaya, of Calcutta , belongs to a family of musicians hailing from the temple town of Guruvayur.
He has accompanied various leading artistes at music festivals in Kolkatta and the Eastern region, during their concert tours. He is in UAE for the past 12 years and has accompanied various artists visiting UAE.
He works with an IT company as Commercial Manager, and in his leisure time, continues his family tradition of teaching music (violin) to budding youngsters in Dubai and Sharjah.
Thirukudandhai Sri. D. Suresh - Mridangam.
Hailing from the temple town of Thirukudandhai - popularly known as kumbakonam - Sri. D. Suresh is born in a music loving family to late Sri. Duraiswamy Ayengar & Smt. Rajalakshmi. He had his initial training in mridangam at very young age under mridanga vidwan Ariyaloor Sri. Ganesa Iyer at Kumbakonam. Presently he is having his advanced training for the past 6 years under mridanga vidwan Sri. D. Govindarajan in Dubai. He is now playing regularly for various concerts in Dubai. Working as a Chartering Manager in a big group of company in Dubai, he is keen to persue the art for excellence, as he always has the burning desire to perform. He is also one of the active members of Dubai Music Lovers.

We honoured Vidwan - Chinglepet Ranganathan in Dubai last year and this year we honoured Sirkazhi Sri.Jayaraman mama.
Dubai Music Lovers organises Chamber Concerts periodically besides the annual Trinity Festival in April / May . Headed by Vidwan Sri D.Govindarajan , it is into its ninth year promoting carnatic music in Dubai.
We honoured Vidwan - Chinglepet Ranganathan in Dubai last year and this year we honoured Sirkazhi Sri.Jayaraman mama.
