The second concert of the series was wonderful. The choice of kritis was pretty refreshing with some of the pieces being pretty rare in concert stage these days. All the raga AlApanais were done with a lot of classical phrases inter-weaved into them. The main AlApanai of hEmavati was very good and it had a short grahabEdam to rEvagupti as well. The neraval svarams were all measured and in good matching to the piece being presented. The accompanists were wonderful and played in perfect match with the main artist.

There was feeling of leisure and saukyam all thro' the concert and the artist played well a good team.

jagajjanani sukhapAni composer is indeed ghAnam krishna Iyer. MMDD has rendered this composition and it was famous after he rendered. It is a lovely janaranjaka tukkadA , many would know to sing the song and most of them in the list would not know the composer.

Correct. I believe that the original raga was Kalyani. Some kuchery guides still have this.

As an aside, I must say that the sound system at the CLT needs some careful fixing. It is a great auditorium but without a reliable sound system. Quite randomly the vocalist's mike went in and out (in all the concerts I was at). The technician seemed to have no idea what to do about it.
