Thank you so much for a quick response, sir.
But, I was looking for Moha lahiri merude swami, in Kapi. Just heard it from a friend today & wanted to explore this varnam. The link, http://www.hinduonnet.com/thehindu/fr/2 ... 320300.htm tells that it is a composition of Kunnakudi Venkitaramaiyer. Sorry, don't have any further information on this.

As always, I would like others to give their opinions.

FOOTNOTES
[1] vElA – spear bearer, usually qualified as 'vaDivElA' the handsome spear-bearer, 'veTRivElA' – the victorious spear-bearer etc
[2] 'mODi Seivadu' I think refers to putting on airs of grandeur and pretending to not know the nAyika/bhakta..
[3] I think mayUragiri is kunDrakuDi, but it may be some other place – Kavi kunjara bharati has a composition on mayuragiri svAmi
[4] nittam – literally means 'daily'
[5] melital means becoming thin
[6] kAnal is mirage, and kAnal nIr is the optical illusion of water in deserts
[7] svAminAtha refers to murugA's form as the preceptor of Siva
[8] iDam can also mean 'left' – this could mean 'offer me space to your left', which in subrahmaNya's case is occupied by vaLLi
[9] pA maNam kamazh – to emit/be engulfed by (kamazh) the fragrance (maNam) of milk (pA) hence 'pure' – pA could also mean anything that is beautiful, or poetry itself

Does anyone have an audio of this varnam? The lyrics sound very nice, and to hear a padavarnam in Kapi would be great!
