It was a wonderful concert with a few lesser heard Krithis. I haven't heard the Begada one before.
The start was brisk with a nice round of Swarams for the Varnam at the Charanam line. The Lathangi was really nice and detailed with a 12 min Ragam. The one Avarthanam Swarams were very good and were delivered with ease for a great number of rounds with nice patterns. The Natabhairavi is always good to hear.
The main Thodi was fairly elaborate with some nice Brigas and a good leisurely Mandra Sthayi exposition during later stages. The Neraval and Swarams were done neatly as well. The Tani that followed was very good. The Mrudangam accompaniment was very sensitive throughout and playing for the Neraval in the main Thodi was particularly nice. The violinist provided good support throughout as well. Post main, the Shanmukhapriya was a request and the concert concluded after a Kurinji song.
Overall, a fine concert with a Lathangi and Thodi that I shall remember for quite a while..

Samajavaragamana in Madhyamavathi? I have never heard such a song. Is it a Papanasam Sivan composition?

Yes, it is a composition in Sanskrit by Papanasam Sivan. Lyrics at karnatik.com can be found here - http://www.karnatik.com/c1558.shtml

Lathangi was fabulous. Seems to be always behind kalyani and vachaspathi when it comes to concert fare. Great raga and great kriti were presented wonderfully. Begada was also very nice although the raga could have been explored a little longer.
Great tribute concert for one of the greatest composers of all time!
