6 mins neraval in "kAlinil shilambu konjak-kaivaLai kulunga muttu mAlaigaL asaiyat-teru vAsalil vandaan"
3 mins swaras

The concert was scheduled to start at 7pm . There was ravikiran + prof TRS and few more in the dias , speech ate a lot and the crt started at 07:45 pm . It was two days in a row to hear ravikiran and he spoke well . As the concert started late , as with most musicians they take with a very expressive no

I heard this paNtuvarAli krithi for the first time , the krithi was sung with lot of gusto . May be there is a nadai change in the krithi .If there was nadai change in this krithi I thought just briefly the percussion and the singer did not gel that well.

From #2 everything looked consistently excellent with few numbers really topnotch. The reetigowlai was really vilambit and I really liked his pleads in his musical essay of reetigowlai .The submain was in ,,, . I have first heard this number from the jAmbhavan TNS who sings this number beautifully ,and suryaprakash was really giving a touch of kanakku which goes beautifully with this kamAs krithi , just towards the second half there was a touch of mmi swaras in kamAs .Infact in this concert I did not find his MMI school influences at all , excepting in the few minutes of kamAs swaras

The pick of the day was nAdanAmakriyA . I just googled to check that this krithi is a kamAkshi navavarnA krithi and I guess that is why he preceded with the famous ambIkAm bhagavathim , the lift of nAdanAmakriya was really superb and for the first time I think I am hearing a neraval in nAdanAmakriyA it was really stunning .

The tODi krithi was really well done it was more like madurai sOmu then his school touch but definitely well done with neraval . I was bit disappointed with a very small dose of swaras as I thought that would be main.

6A. kalyANa rAmA (R S T)- hamsanAdam
9 mins alAPana 4 mins violin return
12 mins swaras
6B. tani for 4 mins
7. vaNDu kEtpAr illaiyO - hindOlam + atAnA + KAmbOdhi

8A . slOkham - Mukthi bhajAm nivAsO - shenjuruTTi
+ bhakthAnam kam - punnagavarAli
+krishna nishchEsa - sindubhairavi
+ lakshmi paramAnandhO - shenjuruTTi
8B. muDDU krishnA mEmudham - shenjuruTTi

The main in hamsanAdAm was really superb . I get goosebumps with this krithi kalyAna rAmA in general (courtesy TNS)with just one phrase "kalyAna rAmA" with bountiful brighas you can bring the whole hamsanAdam .Swaras were really creative and well done . In the tukkadas everything was well done ,I have not heard this vaNdU kEtpAr illaiyO in these 3 rAgas with he going back from atAna , KAmbOdhi back to hindOlam by singing the pallavi line was aesthetic.

A very detailed slokham in 3 rAgas shenjurtTTi , smilingvarAli and sindhubhairavi was expressive with he ending in muDDU krishnA meMudham (I think it is madhyama shruthi shenjurutti ) , it had its own thillAna phrases in the krithi.

The violinist played well , but the concert was reallly superb with melakaveri balAji with his really top class play.He played beautifully and with a very ultra short tAni making way for more concert time was really welcome . .Venkatasubramaniam gave good support in ghatam .The concert ended 45 minutes plus the cindrella time of 9pm . As I walked out I could hear prof TRS (who sat for the whole concert) and congragulating suryaprakAsh . I am simply amazed by shri TRS .

Few Observations in general:
--------------------------
1. OVK in general has a lot of tough krithis and the krithis are in two difficult languages sanskrit and thamizh and unlike telugu the words are difficult in general .All the krithis have nearly furlong length of sahitya the demands is pretty steep for every musician .With suryaprakAsh it was consistently excellent sahithya enunciation and a really brilliant musical aesthetics.

2.As I walked out I was thinking about nAdanAmakriyA , In general one hears more this rAgAin tukkadas , especially my mind razed to semmangudi mAma jagaDeesha(ST krithi) , to hear a neraval and a very detailed nAdanAmakriyA was a really great experience.

If there was shortcoming it was the first pantuvarALi , everything was superb from there on.Overall an excellent concert .
