About the organisers: This is dedicated to the legend Smt MLV. The entire 10 days concert is of duo
(called double delite) in different fields like Veena, Mandolin.. Interesting concept. Going through the schedule, came
across many unknown (to me) duos like Apporva & Anahita and Naranjana and subhiksha and Jayaraj & Jayashri etc.
About the concert: In a two hours ten minutes, you cannot expect more than this and Sattur Sisters always
give a satisfactory performance. This time also they have taken different kritis of various composers
and executed with perfection. Special mention of Sriranjani raagam by Smt BR and Pahi jaga janani kriti by
the duo. Vachaspati raga was very fast and one could not enjoy the beauty of the ragam but the kriti
was very soulful, apt for Navrathiri.
Mangalam Ganaptai raga malika was very good, meanig of the kriti and "bairavis' in one kriti was rendered very well.
Last piece merits mention- It was a comparision of Lord Rama with Paramacharya of Kanchi. It was very beautiful
and meaningful compostion. Revati raga is always a soulful one and with this, it added value. I was told the
composer also wrote a book on Paramacharya's discourse/life comparing with Bhagavat Geeta. It was not sold in the
market and for private circulation and Indeed a treasure to study this.
Tani was very a simple adi tal and good one. Violinist performance except for "Vachaspati return" was very good.
I observed two weird things- Till the last song the sound adjustment was very poor, suddenly creating jarring noice
and it was very disturbing for the singers as well as listeners.
The previous concert was Akkarai sisters-vocal. After the concert, they just moved to the right side and talking
so loudly without even caring for the successive performers to perform. The next Team had to wait till they finished
and went down. Normally, previous performers sit and listen to one or two kritis of the next performer and leave
quitely.
NB.
Saw a rat climbing up behind the dias, during the conert, and Erode also saw that. but his Tani was not "rat"tling.

Thank you for the nice review. I feel so glad and honoured to be called 'OUR'.

I think the rat mistook me for a "pazham peruchchALi" and got terrified!!

rattling was good and to add to it, if a thani is pregnant with beyond mind boggling things it is a rat-link thani (romba kodayaRAn!)... |(

You may not realise then, that Jayaraj and Jayashri are also "our" forumites. Regardless of their membership, I strongly recommend them to you.... Going through the schedule, came across many unknown (to me) duos like Apporva & Anahita and Naranjana and subhiksha and Jayaraj & Jayashri etc.
