I have been hearing him for the last 3-4 years and he never fails to impress. He sang Raju Vedala which is a Ranganatha Pancharatna as Ranganathu Vedala and that was appropriate. Being Vaikunta Ekadesi, he called the Lord Ranga with the help of all composers!
Dikshitar's Soundararajam in Brindavana Saranga stood out in every aspect. The alapana was spectacular and the composition itself was so stately. Before that he sang snapfire 1 avarthanam swarams in Devamanohari in Lalgudi style which set the tone for the concert. By the time he launched into a 20 minute plus Kambhoji alapana for O Ranga Sayee he had some elite audience join in-T.M. Krishna, Sangeetha Sivakumar, Bombay Jayashri, Vishaka Hari...Hope I haven't missed anyone (Entaro Mahanubavulu)
Maybe that unnerved him since I feel he packed the main with too many things. Though there were some great passages, there were also quite a few slips which I haven't heard from him before. But better he explores the creative side fully than stick to the beaten path.
I feel the form he was in, an RTP would have gone down well but maybe another day.
Great to see him at the 6pm slot with a piad ticket.

And I forgot to mention Sri Bhakthavatsalam. He was simply outstanding throughout the concert.

Dear MV,

I think you did not attend the concert or may be not with full attention. The violinist was not SUNDERRAJAN. It was NAGAI SRIRAM.

Thanks for that gvgsv. Shri Bhakthavatsalam did announce that the violinist was Nagai Sriram. I'm glad you paid attention.

He is undoubtedly a star performer considering his age <30. The only problem, if you call it one, is that it is a shade feminine which may not be appealing to people looking for Ranganatha Sharma type of voice. In higher octave, Vijay siva has the same problem.

His sister Visaka Hari must have roped in BJ, all LGJ students.

I agree with you that he has a feminine voice which is why I thought he was closer to 20. Anyway, can't do anything with the voice. The content is intelloigent though!
