He played a beautiful RTP in Kharaharapriya that lasted for almost 75 mins.including tani. The ragam was for close to 20 mins.and still one wanted more. That is the lakshanam of a genius I think. The rAgamAlika session of tAnam was scintilating with RK and violinist Dr.Manjunath playing different ragams that is the speciality in Rk's concerts which the Carantica Bros.also follow.
The rAgamalika contained BegadA,varAli,NAttakurinji,Nattai,kAnadA,(rEvagupti ,vAsanti?am not sure)
The pallavi was in Adi-tAlam kanda nadai which is 4 over 5 as told by RK.
The tani that followed was excellent by K.V.Prasad,B.S.Purushothman and Tripunithura Radhakrishnan.
Post Tani he played a sedate jAvali of ST in Jujavanthi and chellinenettu in Paras.
He opened with his own varnam in Behag.Moved on to bhava laden Teliyaleru rAma in Denuka,a moving Brovavamma in MAnji,Ramachandram bhAvayAmi in vasantA with beautiful svarams where the violinist also excelled.
Bhadrachala Ramadasa's O,rAma nE nAma in Purvikalyani came before the RTP.
The heartening factor was that there were not too many people to listen to such a lofty and sublime music

3) Ramachandram - Vasantha (R,KS)
4) Brovavamma Thamasa - Manji
5) O Rama Nee Nama - Badrachala Ramdas - Purvi Kalyani (R)

It was a leisurely and serene concert. Vasantha ragam was short and sweet. Brovavamma by Syama Shastri was an absolute delight to hear. He obviously allowed himself 1 hour plus to develop his RTP and he did full justice to it. The alapana for Kharaharapriya was detailed and running into 20 minutes. The ragamalika tanam was spectacular. And the pallavi itself was crisp. Ravikiran took time to announce some details before his presentation. Having picked Khanda nadai for Aadhi, he proceeded to play Kalpana Swarams in Chaturasram which I thought was brilliant. The thani which followed was also delightful.
Mysore Manjunath is a competent violinist and I have heard great concerts of his with Mysore Nagaraj. Somehow, his style and Ravi Kiran's current style of serene music didn't blend. Manjunath has quick bowing and fast phrases. He played very well, but I would have preferred to see Akkarai Subulakshmi.
Lastly, the forumites are pretty quick. I just logged on to add my two cents and saw there was already a thread for this concert. Thats great!

Perfect acoustics and a decibel disciplined team made Ravikiran's concert a rich experience of the Naadaprapancham.
Kharaharapriya which has not been taken up by many so far during the season, was a treat. It was admirable that Ravi avoided that too much of niceties approach during the aalaapana.
The Paras Javali was followed by Dwijavanti Padam - it would have been nicer if the javali followed the padam.
I agree with MV with regard to his remarks on Nagaraj's violin accompaniment.
Ravikiran's disciple Anaahita maintained the Taala perfectly (with her left hand including for the Pallavi / Tani) even while she was strumming the Tambura.
In short, a wholesome experience at the Academy on 21st.

Just heard parts of this concert on the radio - dhEnuka, vasanta, and mAnji. The dhEnuka was excellent! The mAnji was moving. Alas, they didn't relay the RTP.
