M A Sundaresan, every one makes this mistake , i made it too when KSSR corrected me. Tx badari for the review , malladi's standard list they usually have this combination, their main in kharaharapriya is usually well presented.

Thanks, Badari. Missed the concert because it started early.
I see no RTP and no tamizh songs in the list. Nonetheless an interesting mix. nIlAmbari is in vogue now, it seems.
Also missed listening to MAS. (Rajesh, you are lucky to have a name where one cannot go wrong with the spelling. Even my short name gets the treatment. Forget the long ones!).

They had to leave early to Bhadrachalam, as they were organising the Bhadrachala Ramadas jayanthi.. However, they promised a 4 hr concert including Pallavi in their next 'outing' here. I still think the post mail tail was rather long and they could have included a short pallavi instead. It wasn't a short concert ( lasted 3 hrs).

It was tad short of 3 hrs - very nice dhanyasi, kalavati (sounded very nice, have not heard it before, cannot relate to it but it sounded awesome!) like the kalavati krithi very much. They sing sarasijanabha a *lot*. This is the 3rd time I am hearing the same (nice) varnam from them. Either it is sarasijanabha or chalamela - both of which they render as pada varnams. Wish they have more variety in varanams or i may have been unlucky. As can be expected of them, their diction of telugu (which i don't understand) was very clear and telugu krithis sound so nice. I was praying that tani will be short so that we could have an RTP - but it was longish and there was a long tail :( . Also, they do sing kharaharapriya more often - and it was nice to hear nadachi nadachi. I have not heard this song on the vocals before - though have heard it many times on the instrument - especially LGJ Sir's forever rings in my ears.
A very classical fare - but i will be lying if I say that I was disappointed that they didn't have an RTP or at least more neravals. It was nice to see them being driven off in a BMW in Bangalore and I shouted out that we need an RTP when they come to Rama Seva Mandali across the street :)
I also met squims (Srivathsa(n)) at the bajji counter and that was nice! squims - review please!

Their concert for SIFAS last year was mind blowing! Did not get a chance to listen to them during Dec. I really like their presentation style - very neat and gripping.
Where can I learn about upcoming concerts in Bangalore? I will be frequenting Bangalore on official work & would like to attend some good concerts during my stay.

Ma'am, these aren't the same..

That kalAvati ( ennaDu jUtunO), I guess is a different raga, janya of chakravakam 16th mELa, and is a Thyagaraja composition..

This was yAgapriya ( 31st mELa) , kalAvati in Dikshitar's nomenclature..
