* Kshetra-Sringeri is to follow in April .I recollect she has presented on this shrine sometimeback in Indian Fine Arts.This could have been more challenging when we may not be as familiar with Vaggeyakaras who had composed on Sringeri.
* I can understand VS being modest in not putting Dr.as prefix to her name.But interview has displayed it "ON RECORD"!

Two points that I liked.

1.She doesn't wear silk due to her daughter's meticulous practice of non-violence policy.A daughter leading her mother.Wah..

2.Her disciples are free to discuss not only music but cooking,marriage,etc.with her.

Do we know One silk saree can mean up to 50,000 dead silkworms.
At least 1,500 silk worms are killed to produce one metre of the usual silk cloth
'Ahimsa silk' is made out of the cocoon left behind by the moth after completing its life-cycle
Let us make a beginning by convincing our dear&near ones dissuading them from buying- " no demand, no supply -Dr.V.S.being a student of Economics "

*Like fur, silk is also very cruel.I believe the silk is of best quality a week before the worm flies out of the cocoon.How cruel!-To quote her own words.

This has to be addressed quite seriously by a largely vegetarian consumer society that seems to be morally complicit in perpetuating these horrors.

* It is hightime we addressed the issue of awareness in disclosure norms of ingredients -Egg content in chocolates,icecreams, cakes,shampoo ,meat extract in veg soups .Once maha periava had appreciated a seeda sada north indian lady devotee even when she had declined to accept sugar crystals offered as prasadam by telling"swami! doosra prasad de deejiye-Give me another prasad""mahaperiava has mentioned in "Deivathin Kural-This is the lady who was prepared to uphold the tradition unmindful of earning possible displeasure from a religious head!"(Dog skin was originally used as a filter in sugar manufacture procedure since discontinued even @ that time the fact of which that lady perhaps would not have known).

Wish I had seen this interview. Not only do I like VS's singing, I also think she is a very spirited and interesting woman.
