Pattabhirama Pandit - Bangalore - 19th March 2011
Vid. Pattabhirama Pandit
Vid. TKV Ramanujacharyulu
Vid. Jayachandra Rao - Mridangam
Vid. Srisaila - Ghatam
Organization: Vishesha Fine Arts
Venue: Brigade Millenium, JP Nagar
Endaro - Sri (Sketch)
Tholinenu - Kokiladhwani (S)
Seshachalanayakam - Varali (R, N, S)
Neraval @ Aravinda Bhakta Nayanam
Mokshamu - Saramathi
Tattva meruga - Garudadhwani
Ramaniyada - Kharaharapriya (R, N, S, T)
Yadava Nee Ba - ??
Mayamma - Ahiri
Kandu Dhanyanade - Behag
Slokam followed by Sagara Shayana Vibho - Bagesri
Tillana - Poornachandrika
Pavamana/Mangalam Kosalendraya Sowrashtram/Madhyamavati
Vid. Pattabhirama Pandit gave a very pleasing performance at the Brigade millenium in a chamber concert like atmosphere. Even though his voice was not at its best (saw that he was having a colored liquid that looked liked medication) he gave a classical performance with many of his guru's popular renditions that I enjoyed very much (Srinivasa tava charanam would have made it complete!). Varali and Kharaharapriya were dealt with in detail and his neraval style brought back memories of KVN the great! Upon my request, he sang Sagara Shayana Vibho - with a slokam honoring his gurus - which was very touching and indeed brought back memories down the memory lane....
I particularly liked TKV's support - always have enjoyed his playing. Mridangam and Ghatam made it a very enjoyable and memorable evening.

Ahhh this concert was practically in my backyard and I missed it!
Looks like Bangalore had two great concerts on Saturday evening (TNK's and this) and I missed both.

One simple way to let people know about such events might be to create a facebook account for the sabha and let those interested follow that account. Of course it requires the rasikas themselves need to have a facebook account of their own.

I was happy to see seshachala nayakam on the list. Varali is one of my personal favs. I recently posted a clip of Sri Pattabhirama Pandit rendering the krithi in a different concert on a different day on youtube. Here are the links if anyone is interested:
Part 1

Part 2

I personally think that he is brilliant. I wish I could have attended this concert.

Thanks for the recording. Listening to the neraval as I type this post. Really nice rendition. Loving the accompaniment immensely as well.
