Just saw the interview and heard you sing sambhO mahAdEva in your sweet voice. It was such a good interview. A sharp interviewer who asked pertinent questions about your work in the field of CM. I only had a glimpse of you both at the Rasikas. org meeting (you were busy, and I had to leave early). Though I had an idea about all that you do and achieve for the growth of CM, I could get to know more about what you as a couple have achieved and are still working at to promote CM. I hope thousands of Chennai folks watched this segment with interest--which means, you are going to draw more music-minded people to concerts.
Other things which struck me were: not many scholars in music are good communicators or organizers. You are one! Of course, it is all the more effective because you have excellent support from your artiste-organizer husband. How I wish I were there to see the children sing in the presence of Dr. Kalam! Your experiments with themes (in the hands of capable performers, as you pointed out) is noteworthy. It was good to see you and listen to you two for a number of minutes in this interview--rather than merely greeting each other (as we did!).
Thanks for the clip. Those who missed the TV program but are looking at this, if they are mildly interested in venturing into CM listening, may start listening from now on--who knows!
