Similarly it must be "raghu-kula sOma" or "ravi-kula sOm" in the AP.

I checked in the book. Rajani is probably correct about the word being raghu kula. But the character ku is missing in the text. The first character of ..ammija is also not clear. It could be Rammija (R as in "arivu"). Does it make more sense?

May be it is "ambuja nAbha"?

I don't think it is. I can send the scanned lyrics to anyone who would like to interpret it.

Is it 'nIraja nAbha'?
That seems to be nearest to 'nammija'

V.S.Apte's dictionary says 'nadIjam' also means lotus. May be that is what it is. But somehow I can not picture a lotus as being 'nadIja', though technically it is correct.

I located an old recording of Mysore B.S.Raja Iyengar singing this song and the word is "namraja nAbha".

L-ji, now it makes sense.
namra-jana - humble person
Abha - having the (same)brightness as , similar to
So the phrase can be taken to mean " one who is a like a very humble person ie, humble himself"
PS: Thanks for sending me the lyrics. The print seemed to have "nammija" and so I was still wondering.

Re: Jagadabhi Rama Janaki Rama - Sahithyam
The pallavi--swara-kalpavalli telugu edition, by T.TyAgayyar, the composer's son, does give nammijanAbha; and not namra-janABha, as we have surmised here.
If B.S.Rajaiyengar learnt from the notation, he may have made the same mistake as us, since the telugu mma looks like the kannaDa mra.
Rajani,I have never seen this kind of epithet, either by itself, or in a synonymised form in or kAvya or stOtra literature. I fear it is a case of a typo in the handwritten manuscript, or a case of the printer's devil.

Keerthi - quite likely. I too have not encountered this kind of compound anywhere.
Mrs S - thanks. Please do not use a "ji" for me.
