TNS Krishna- Vocal
Udayakiran- Violin (visually impaired artist)
KU Jayachandra Rao- Mridangam
Bhargava Halambi- Kanjira
Held under the auspices of Rama Seva Mandali, Koramangala at The Indian Heritage Academy.
1. Virutham in Mayamalavagowla follwed by Meru samaana. Swaram. Started with Ma Ga Merusamana - converted to maha merusamana. Interesting idea.
2. Aparadhamu- Darbar?- Thy. Neraval and swaram @ Charanujochina
3. Tamil number- Raama Naamam Amrutha Paaname - Khamas
4. Elaborate dharmavathi- Bhajana seya raadaa O Manasa. N and S @Niravathi sukha dhaayakuni Paramathmuni Bhaktha paaluni. The swara sequences were delightful.
5. A virutham in Bhairavi followed by Sreeraama gothanda Rama.
6. Saahaa Varam Arulvai, Rama , a Bharathiar song in Varamu popularised by TNS. I would have liked a brief swaram for this beautiful number.
7. Superfast Mariveradikkevarayya Rama in Shanmugapriya. Also a high speed brief swaram. This was a new facet of this composition.
8. Elaborate thodi with all TNS catches. Attempted srutibedam on several occasions during alapanai, but it did not appear successful. Nee daya raavaleda followed. (Disappointed, as I was expecting the majestic Daasarathe). Violin here was mediocre but was more successful in srutibedham. Neraval @ Veda Shastra. Here, interestingly he made a successful and impressive srutibedam. Elaborate swaram with kanakku followed. But it was not stretched to the extent of making is boring and tedious. Ragamalika swaram - Natai, Gowlai, Arabhi, Varali, Kunthalavarali, Kadanakudhookalam, Revathi, Hamsanandi, Niroshta, Neelambari, Karnaranjani, bhoopalam, Nilambari, Sriragam (list provided by my wife!)was presented beautifully. Good replies by violinist.
9. Thani
10. Thuppudaiyaarai...Appodaikkappode solli vaithen- a divya prabandam paasuram as virutham follwed by Neene anaadha bhandhu in Subhapanthuvarali. Created a mood befitting the sahityam.
11. Bega Baaro Bega Baaro- Mand
12. A virutham on Ganapathi followed by a TNS thillana. I know that there is a thillana in the same raga by Maharajapuram Santhanam on MahaperiyavaL -...kaN kanda deyvam ... Kanchi maamuniye..". Do not know the ragam but absolutely bewitching. Well presented by TNS Krishna.
13. Mangalam.
Overall a very good concert. No flaws. Hall acoustics and sound system had a lot to be desired. At least the thumping sound from first floor could have been avoided. But cannot seriously complain when such a facility is made available at reasonable rate to a variety of social and cultural activities.

TNS also has composed a scintillating thillana in Basant Behar.

I think he has composed in basant only not basant bahAr, I am assuming they are two different rAgas in hindustani.
do you recollect the chandrakowns and basant lines of thillAna(the lyrical wordings not the tom ta nam)???

Here is a crude mobile phone recording of the thillana. You people can decide and inform what raga it is!! It is on Lord Ganapathi.

To verify the words of the thillanas, I have to scan through all my CDs of TNS concerts nearing 80 mp3CDs. But the thillana on Lord Ganapathi is in the raga Basant. He sang this in a concert of All Ganapathi songs for Vinayaka Chathurthi in Bangalore in ninetees.
