Can i please get the lyrics of the meera bhajan mhArI surtA suhagaN nAr. There are some words that i cannot understand in the bhajan.

My(mhArI) form(suratA) is that of a wedded (suhAgaN) lady (nAr). My(mhArA) love has become attached (lagI) to the dark complexioned one (shyAm), the Lord of the distressed souls (dinAnAth)

janamI aur mar jAye
var varUngI ek sAamvaro jI
mhAro chUDo amar ho jAye
sUrat mhArA shyAm so lagI
Why should I wed(varUre) such (aisA) a groom (varane) who takes birth(janamI) and dies (mar jAye). I will wed (varungI) the dark (sAnvaro) groom (var). This will make my bangle of the wedding (chuDo) immortal (amar).
[The wedded ladies in North India only remove their bangles once the husband dies]

rAm nAm ko chUDlo perU
prem ko sirmo sAr
nakabesar hari nAm kI ji
utar chalo ........
sUrat mhArA shyAm so lagI
I shall wear(perU) the bangles (chUDlo) of the names (nAm) of Sri rAma and the robe (sAr) of love (prem). The name of sri hari will be the ornament of my nose (nakbesar) and this way i will land on the either side.
[I think the last line refers to the bhava sagaram. She describes the extraordinary decoration that she does and hence eventually leaves the world to meet the Lord]

the second line means the support (AdhAr) of Sri Krishna's name.
the fourth line means meera is calling out/declaring

Here's my attempt. Will start with the last verse first:

suratA chalI jahAm le chalI rI
kRSNa nAm AdhAr

-- My form/face (suratA) will go/follow (calI/chalI) wherever (jahAm) it is taken by Krishna, whose name is my only (rI) support (as a woman follows her husband - this fits in with the suhAgan vision).

avinAshI rI sobatE jI
mIrA kare chE pukAr

--(Krishna) the One who is indestructible/omnipresent is the only (rI) One who attracts/looks good (sobatE/sobhatE) to Meera whom (chE) she calls out (pukAr) to.

Second verse offers an intimate picture of herself as a wedded bride. Building on your input, my addition :

rAm nAm ko chuD lo bErU
prEm kO sir mO sAr
nakavE sAr hari nAm kIjE
utar chalo belE pAr
sUrat mhArA shyAm sO lagI

--Adorned/wearing (bErU) the name of rAm as her bangles (chud lO), the love (prEm) for her Lord, draped (sAr) around her head (sir mo) (like a bride, wife), wearing (sAr) on her nose (nakavE), name of that (kIjE) Hari as nathni, Meera's form (suratA) sets forth (utar chalo) to the other side (bel pAr), intensely (sO) attached/drawn to her shyam.



Thanks Krishnaa, - this is an intimate one where she openly declares her intense attraction, yearning and marriage to the Lord.
