The first song in Vasantha is Rama Rama [PurandaraDasar], the Nalnakanthi song is by Sri Tanjavoor Sankara Iyer, and the 7 Th song in Yamuna Kalyani is “Yamunai nadikarayil”, a composition by Sri Thanjavoor Sankara Iyer.
Sri INJIKUDI Subramanyam invariably plays one or two compositions of the Krithis composed by Sri Thanjavoor Sankara Iyer in every concert.
MRS Leela Samson, the director of Kalakhetra, Akira IO, A FREE LANCE PHOTOGRAPHER sending the reports about the cultural activities [Music and Dance] in India to a Japan news paper have attended the concert.
Sri Injikudi Subramanyam is the current top ranking Nadaswaram artist and plays the traditional carnatic krithis excellently in the first part of his concert.
In his last items, he plays an excellent krithis mostly based on Hindustani ragas for about 30 minutes including many Shenoy sancharams.
His yaman kalyani and Sindubairavi [Thamburi Meetidava of dasar were enchanting and excellent.
There was a recording problem during the Chandrajothi krithi.

Nageswaran sir, thank you for the upload.
Injikudi Subramaniam is excellent. I had the pleasure of listening to him when he was in N. America last year.

A tribute to Leela Samson...
I didn't recognise her. After some conversation, I said, "I think I ought to know your name?"
She replied, "I look after Kalakshetra." Of course, then my dim brain cells connected --- but what was remarkable was the simple humility and sincerity with which she made this four-word statement, not of her celebrity, but of her responsibility. She was also not in the least put out not to be recognised.
It was a great concert, although nadaswaram and tavil is mighty powerful for a house concert. I was literally blown away --- to listen from the side room!
Name misspelling corrected :$

Isn't she Ms. Leela Samson? (See Cienu's post - corrected...)
Nick, she not only 'looks after kalAkshEtra', but is also the president of both the Sangit Natal Academy and the Film Censor Board of India. Responsibility seems to rest oh-so lightly on her shoulders. No disrespect to the other principals of kalAkshEtra, but, IMO, I think she is the first one who is an esthete in every sense of the word, in the mould of Smt. RDA.
