LEC DEM BY MRS SAK DURGA ON 27.02.2011

Dear Rasikas,

Rasikas of my generation would acknowledge that they have become the Rasikas of Carnatic music only after listening to the legend Sri Madurai Mani Iyer for the first time in their childhood.

At that time all of us realized the joy of listening to his music even though we did not know the essence of MMI’S Music then.

Now we can attribute the excellence of his music because of the perfect alignment to sruthi, selection of the ragas and many more.

MRS S.A.K DURGA, the musicologist gave a LEC-DEM about Sri MMI at sri V.V.SUNDARAM’s house 0n 27.02. 2011.

Madam was a disciple of Sri MMI for about 12 years during her childhood.

Reminiscences about her training with Sri MMI were explained by her with short
explanations about her training. DR.M.Narmada accompanied in the LEC-DEM.

I was fortunate enough to attend the LEC-DEM and Sri VKV, Sri Kalidas MR. Nick and many people also attended the LEC-DEM.

Madam was kind enough to permit me to record the LEC-DEM and later given me the permission to post the LEC-DEM in our website.

I could find time to upload the same only now.
