Phone apps

Post by indian music techie »

Dear Carnatic Community,

The growing trend of software applications catering to Indian music is heartening. In this vein, I wanted to bring your attention to a few wonderful free Windows Phone Apps I’ve been playing around with.

- The Tala app http://wp7.apphab.com/tala-free-by-srin ... swanathan/ is a practice and learning tool for the most common talas. It is unique in that it provides graphical representation of the hand movements for each position in the cycle.

- The sruthi app http://wp7.apphab.com/shruti-box-by-sri ... swanathan/ is a straightforward mobile platform sruthibox - pretty standard and very useful (includes fine-tuning option).

- Carnatic Triva http://wp7.apphab.com/carnatic-trivia-by-mettav-bazaar/ has an nice roster of raga vignettes, quizzes and fun facts.

Hoping for more apps!
