I was curious because Lakshmi Shankar was primarily a Hindustani singer. This song is in kannaDa too. However I managed to locate the audio clip and have uploaded it here:

The song seems to have some Sanskrit/Hindi words along with Kannada... ?

Shouldn't it be Smt. Lakhsmi Shankar? - As Miss Lakshmi Sastry, she was one of the first non-devadasi girls to learn bharatanATyam, and then, after her arangETRam, she joined the troupe of Sri Uday Shankar, which was where she met her husband (the youngest of the 'Shankar' brothers, IIRC). She then learnt HM and has since become a leading HM singer. (BTW, she is also the mother of the Late Viji Subramaniam, the first wife of Dr. L. Subramaniam, the violin maestro).
