S.P.Ramh is an unsung hero.I am very fond of his singing. He has a leisurely style deep rooted in classicism. All items were handled neatly and there was a classical sweetness to them.Bhairavi and varAli were dealt with by giving adequate time and each phrase had the distinct stamp of the ragas.
He has very clear pronunciation and each word registered in the listener’s mind with their due weight giving his singing a lift.A very good performance.
PR’s play was with perfect understanding since both belong to the same school. My mind raced back to 90-’91 where the same pair performed in sAstri hall in the presence of their illustrious guru LGJ.
GR embellished the concert by his soft and firm playing.AS played nicely.

Ganshkant,
Good to see that you are sharing your concert experiences with us--kavidais apart! The more the reviews, the better it is for the rasikas to get a picture of the music scene. I hope others share their concert experiences too. The Unnati Gokulashtami series series in Bengaluru has generated a number of reviews. Hope we get to read many reviews on a regular basis from everywhere!
I have heard S.P. RAmh years ago. Doesn't he play an instrument too?

I really like SP Ramh's music. For some reason, he is not highly visible on the concert circuit. Ganeshkant, thanks for your review.
Arasi, Yes. He also plays the veena; he is the grandson of the veena vidwan Sri Dhandapani Iyer.

I have heard him on a couple of CDs - tiruvembAvai and the other, his guru's Jaya Jaya Devi, and really enjoyed both.
