Sri.TM( Tremendously Motivating) Krishna performed to a packed audience
today and gave a scintillating performance which marked the grand finale to
the *music part* of the Gokulashtami series this year.Sri.Krishna's presence
is enough to motivate the young and old alike. His exuberant style and music
that simply churns the minds of rasikas, gives everyone an immense sense of
satisfaction. His prowess as a young and dynamic musician is indisputable and
he has established his own distinct style over a period of time, which makes
him one of the most sought after artiste in the music field today. He started
off with the magnificent raga Bhairavi and went on to sing 'Kamalamba
Samrakshtumam' in Anandabhairavi.
The RTP in Begada with pallavi in ragamalika was simply outstanding.Gliding
from raga to another effortlessly, bringing in the different moods of each
raga and giving depth to the very words of the pallavi('Vazvinil
Anaivarukkum Pradaanamaanadu Manidaneyam'), Sri.Krishna worked his way back
each raga of the ragamalika and made a beautiful garland of them and
submitted it to the Lord on his birthday.Dr.Hemalatha on the violin
demonstrated what a wonderful artiste she is by the way she followed
Sri.Krishna, helping his manodharma flow smoothly.During the ragamalika her
selection of the ragas was done with a lot of music sense and
intelligence.Kalladaikurichi Sri.Sivakumar on the mridangam gave
wonderful support. Sri.Chandrasekara Sharma on the ghatam played well.

Was at this concert. Sorry, haven't had the time to post a complete write up.
In short, I really enjoyed the concert. Opening with Bhairavi with swarams was unusual, but not for TMK I guess!
The Neelaambari kriti was in TMK's ati-chauka kaala style. Went very well with the raagam.
Anandabhairavi was in the Dikshitar sampradayam with only the shuddha dhaivatham. Was hoping for swarams in this to listen to more of the rather different prayogams in this version of the raagam, but only raagam and kriti.
The Begada raagam was decent. From my experience, it is a raagam that TMK sings exceptionally well, but this time it felt a bit soulless. The taanam and the pallavi made up for it though. As has been mentioned, the raagamaalika had a lot of aesthetic appeal. This was easily the highlight of the concert.
The tukkudas were succinct and pleasant.
All the accompanists did a wonderful job. They really helped elevate the concert.
