Bharat Sundar is quite well known especially those who follow Jaya tv -carnatic idol as 2 years back he won the first prize. I have not heard him thru the TV but this was my first concert experience of hearing Bharat Sundar . The sabha was sarvani sangeetha sabha which held in RKM school where usually mudhra conducts their concerts.
Since the start was advertised for 06:15 pm , I thought I should attend this concert as Bharat Sundar has quite a long time to perform . As he started with a brief alApanai of Nattai , I heard a very good and pleasing voice . The whole of nAttai was bit loud more with the violin volume was in the high side , nevertheless Bharat sang a very pleasing nattai.
The malayamArutham was done very well , the volume continued to be on the high side , his neraval was well done , he sang with a lot of emphasis on diction in general for the #2. The third entarO was really welcome drop, it is very very rare to hear a pancharatna krithi and Bharath started very well but towards the end the finish was not as great his first half.
The first alApana in dhanyAsi was really wonderul .He continued in vilambit for SS krithi, there was nice diction in meenalOchanA. Kapinarayani that followed next was just there , his swaras patterns had a touch of kanakku , overall he built it well but bit fizzled out .

KalyAni ragam is bit of jilebi to me , at times only I like it
. Bharat sang a very nice alapana in kalyAni , though the start was slightly on those sangathis that typically give a drowsy muse , his brighas after few minutes was really well done . The main krithi in kalyAni was well sung , the neraval was quite detailed and I enjoyed it . Swaras in kalyAni was not the best segment of kalyAni.
In the tukkadas all three were well done , I particularly liked the kamas thillana of LGJ a lot .

BU Ganesh Prasad has a nice azhuttam in his bowing , though for the first few numbers the volume was on the high side , overall he gave a good support. Arunprakash gave great suppport , but in the main krithi , his play that has at times sudden dharna (impasse) was certainly not to my liking, I would have preferred bit more continuum in his play. Anirudh gave good support and the tani was quite different than the usual ones .
One Area of Improvement:

Bharat sundar does have a nice voice and there is quite a touch of emote and bhava in his singing . If there was a bit of deficit that I heard in this concert was in general that atleast during swaraprasthAnam there was a bit of VOttam in Bharat Sundar's music .
Overall a very good concert.

Recently, I was searching for a kriti of Ramaswamy sivan's "neekEla dayaradhu" in Sarasangi. Though I know the lyrics, I wanted to listen this song from any artist and I could get Bharat sundar singing, in youtube. Two things, I noticed
He closed his eyes, maximum time
In Pallavi, he sang "sAketapura rAma" instead of "sAketapura vAsa". There was a beautiful "chittaswaram" as found in the notations as per Ramaswamy Sivan kriti. It was missing.
He looked over-weight.( I have not seen him recently.) .
This youngster has got excellent voice. Listen to the song in youtube. It was well rendered.
Plan to attend more concerts in this season..
