This was the concluding performance of the week long grand concert series organized by Manoranjitham Sabha and Ayyapan Puja Sangam. With a packed hall, and a good sound system, the concert set off a grand start right from the word GO. All the ragams chosen for elaboration – Lalita , Bhairvai and Naataikurinji were rendered with style , by retaining , expressing and embellishing the unique mood each of these ragams take by nature – be it the serenity or divinity that Lalitha expresses, the majesty Bhairavi showcases or the cheer Naataikurinji communicates. The Swarams in Hiranmayim Lakshmim were a treat to listen to, rendered at the Pallavi Phrase “Sadha Bhajami” by employing Swaraksharams at Sa - Dha
The Pallavi “Dhi Thai Dhi Dhi Thai Endraadum Deivame . . .” and the rhythmic and exuberant Tanam preceding it brought to our eyes, the dancing Lord. The RTP culminated with ragamalika swarams in Abhogi, Sahana , Salagam, Hindolam. Sri Sairam and Sri Rajaganesh played a very energetic and exuberant Taniavarthanam, and all through the concert, Sri. Srikanth and the percussion artists enhanced the beauty of each of the songs, by sensitive and classy playing.
Since the concert fell on a Thursday, Smt. VS aptly sang a sloka on Ragavendra – Poojyaya Ragavendraya followed by a bhajan on Ragavendra. Following this was Arul Seyya Vendumayya , and a lively rendition of Dr. Balamuralikrishna’s thillana in Brindavani.

Re: Smt Vijayalakshmy Subramaniam @ Manoranjitham , Coimbato
I am assuming the bhajan that Smt VijiSubra sang is the famous number "rAghavEndra rAghavEndra japisuvAse Agide"rendered and made popular by shri maharajapuram santhanam . If my memory is right , the composer is KS Raghunathan , the rAga is mishra shivaranjani.HR wrote: 8. Sloka followed by Ragavendra bhajan – Sivaranjani - Rupakam - Mysore Sama Rao
