Congratulations to Master Avinash Balaji Pillai.

While congratulating young Avinash for his prowess in two forms of music, vocal and piano; carnatic and western I was a bit disturbed by the urgency with which a talented youngster has taken to the stage in the midst of stalwarts like Mannargudi Shri Easwaran and others! The Carnatica brothers would have done themselves proud had they waited for a coule of more years for the talented youngster to have polished his trade rather than ventured into the "arangetram," prematurely! Pardon me for expressing it, the gurus are the real culprit on this occasion to have egged a not-so-ready artist to take the stage.

Carnatica Bros. appear to have thrown caution to the winds in this "venture!" God only knows what sort of Gurukulam they are talking about!??

When inviting the general public to attend a vocal and piano arangetram, it would be nice to let us know, when and where if you wish us to grace the occasion.

Given that may be you forgot, it is important then to visit the web site and look to see if questions have been asked and respond.

Lastly "Bassethound" did you attend and could you please enlighten on the songs performed and was the Piano recital Carnatic or Western style.

I was there for, Unnai Allal Veru gathi illai Amma by Papanasam Sivan in Kalyani Raga. It was too much to take beyond this! The youngster is no doubt talented but....
