I attended Sowmya's concert at NGS for Karthik Fine Arts. It was a scholorly performance with many rare krithis. Sowmya came with 3 of her students. So the stage looked like a rainbow.To say in 'Maanada Mayilada' parlance, the chemistry between the accomapnists and Sowmya was awesome. There were some engaging and friendly duel between Sowmya and Poongulam Subramanian during the swarams for Kalala Nechina .

Sowmya's raga essay of Harikhambhoji was particularly moving.I expected DinamaNivamsha. Chani Thodi came as a pleasant surprise.

Dr.Narmadha was in full form that day and she matched Sowmya word by word. Her raga essays of Dipakam and Harikambhoji were class acts.

Keeravani was taken as the main and Sowmya presented a textbook display of the raga. Poongulam Subramanian and K.V.Gopalakrishnan played a brilliant Tani and enhanced the overall effect.

And all in all it was a good team effort.
