Gayathri V gave a superb recital today at PSSTemple. She started the concert with Tirupavai. Being the first day of the month of Marghazhi,Andal's first Pasuram was taken as opener. It was brimming with total devotion.Gopalakapahimam was taken as the next. Paramapurusha a kriti made famous by MSS was taken next. G did a good raga alapana and Mysore Srikanth on Violin gave a mindboggling return. She made a brisk neraval and swarams at catura mUriti catura bahu shankha cakrAdharA.

Next she sang ninu seyu of Subbaraya sastri on the main deity of the temple. It was sung in an unhurried and pleasant manner. Then she came up with the brisk Atana Kriti which acted as a filler.

Bhairavi was taken as the main.G did a wonderful alapana and Violinist return were equally good. Thyaga Raja's upacharamulanu was sung and her neraval and swarams were excellant. Then started the Tani. Sankar on Kanjira was outstanding. But Mridangist lacked the vigour. His playing throughout the concert was ok kind.

What i liked most about GV is her approch to the music. She was totally concentrating on Music and was not at all affected by her surroundings, considering the fact that people kept on moving around her.She kept smiling throughout the concert and maintained her poise.Hers is a music without any frills.A sangeetham without any Alattals and Aarpattam.
