Bhairavi was expansive and very good. Mridangam support through out was like a lesson on how to accompany. Pregnant pauses and patterns and joining the main artistes aesthetically. Wow. The Tani was short (10 mins are so) but was very good, very fast fingering. Embar Kannan - what can one possibly say? Top notch artistes and top notch music for 3 hours.
Bros announced that TS has been accompanying the 4th generation in their guru sishya lineage and that they are very grateful to have been accompanied by TS - Sripada Pinakapanai, Voleti, Nedunuri and now Malladi Bros.

Re: Malladi Bros for BGS, 17/Dec/2011
I attended this concert. I wanted to check if Raghupriya is a Melakarta ragam but haven't gotten around to it. I thought they sang that very well. It was a great concert in many ways. Good mix of composers with a fair sprinkling of Thyagaraja kritis. They must have heard SVK's lament for more of these in concerts
Throughout I felt the Bhakthi aspect of our music-even in the alapana and neraval-the focus was on the flow of sahitya rather than dramatic flourishes. They would then rise out of this restful meditation to offer interesting kanakkus in their kalpana swaras. Trichy Sankaran was masterly as was acknowledged by the brothers. Ghatam Karthic was respectful to the senior percussionist but was brilliant. I would have happily stayed for another 3 hours or more if they had wanted to go on. But all good things have to end and so it did. Well, this was my 'Viswa Roopam' concert so far.
