Concert held @ Amara bharathi Hall Tiruvanmiyur @ 6.30 on 07.01.2012

Smt.Gayathri Venkataraghavan – Vocal
Ms.Ranjani Ramakrishnan- Violin
Sri.Umayalapuram Mali – Mridangam

The List of Krithis :

Parama Purusha Nirupamana – Shanmugapriya - Annamacharya
Brova Barama – Bahudari - Thyagaraja
Darisanam Kandarku – Mohanam - GKB
Thyagaraja Yoga vaibhavam – AnandaBhairavi – Dikshithar
Ninne Nammi – Todi – Syama Sastri
Tamil Krithi in Senchuriti
Sarasa sama dana – Kapi narayani – Thyagaraja
Sara Samukhi – Garuda Mallhar – HMB
Jayathi Jayathi Bharata Mata – Khamas

Absolutely divine music from Smt.Gayathri & team. Top class Mohanam & Todi. The GKB Krithi was rendered fully with all the charanams. Todi krithi rendered with full bhavam with neraval @ " Kamakshi".

Since this year is Madurai Mani Iyer’s birth year. Some krithis popularized by him were rendered.

Some very disturbing aspects of audience behavior which was observed during the concert..

Keeping the mobile phones in voice mode and taking calls or calling when concert is in progress. There by causing disturbance to the others in the audience.

Walking in late to the concert and making huge noise by moving the chairs, which gives out huge noise.

Talking aloud to each other when the concert is in progress.

Would like to see rasikas feedback on the above observations..

It is ' Gowda malhAr '.
I can empathize with you about the audience behavior.Fearing Newton's third law I don't pick up fights normally;
rather used to change my seat.
