I have heard Smt. Rama garu live earlier also, when some concerts took place in the best of the halls in the city, with good acoustic arrangement and all. Yet, this kucheri which was in a make-shift stage, an open-air venue just covered with a shamiana partially, was her best, perhaps it being the Aradhana concert. Also the fact that the prelude speech by the organizers was made in telugu, must have made her feel at home even more. All the kritis in the list were dripping with bhakthi & full of bhavam. She was singing with so much of dedication and self-enjoyment. Dressed in her usual simple yet charming style, it was wonderful to watch her bring out those special brigas and gamakams characteristic of her unique style. Needless to elaborate about MSN Murthy garu’s violin accompaniment, exactly matching her style. Even Nemani garu and Hanumanth Rao on mridangam and ghatam respectively accompanied her perfectly, I must say. She kept lauding their playing all thro’ the concert, in appreciation.
All good things must come to an end, and Yes, in this case the artistes had to rush for the last train leaving sec-bad.
It was an outstanding enthrallment during those 3 hrs or so…

Pavamana (she sang all the charanams!)-mangalam
She does this quite often. Deserves special appreciation
MDR was the only other person that did (to my knowledge). Come to think of it, he was also the only person that sang an extensive Giripai as the main item.
